Dave Eric Grohl was born on January 14th,1969 in Warren,Ohio. Little did anyone know that he would be one of the best rock stars of all time. -

When Dave Grohl was 8 he heard the drums in the band “Rush” that’s what made him want to learn drums and self taught himself drums through his early years of life. -
1985-1987 Dave Grohl joins the band Drain Bramage
Dave Grohl joins his first band "Drain Bramage" in highschool. He then unexpectedly leaves in 1967 to join the band "Scream" -
Dave Grohl joins the band “Scream” 1986
At 17 Dave dropped out of high school and quit his other band "Drain Bramage" to only focus on the band “Scream" as a drummer and even sang on some songs. This was part of the foundation for his career. Fun fact: Dave had to lie about his age to get it but it worked out in his favor! -
"Scream" goes on tour 1986-1990
Dave Grohl tours with the band "Scream" for 4 years and released multiple albums. This gave Dave some ground for his career boosting his fame. -
Dave Grohl joins the band "Nirvana" 1990
After "Scream" disbanded Dave reached out to Osborne for advice and he recommended that "Nirvana" was in need of a drummer. He later joined the band full time drumming for them. -
"Scream" disbands 1990
"Scream" suddenly disbands after bassist Skeeter Thompson leaves the band mid-tour. This caused Dave a lot of stress thinking about what is to come next? -
"Nevermind" is released 1991
"Nirvana" goes to Sound City Studios to record their album "Nevermind" Little did they know that this was going to be their biggest hit and what really got Dave Grohl out there. -
Dave Grohl Continues to work on solo music while working on "In Utero"
Dave Grohl works on solo songs such as Alone + Easy Target and Colored Pictures of a Marigold. Kurt Cobian helps him with writing these songs. -
1993 "In Utero" Is released
After "Nevermind" Nirvana needed their next big hit and two years later after touring they released a new album on September 13th, 1993. This was also a huge success and they toured "In Utero" and "Nevermind" for the next year. -
Kurt Cobain Dies 1994
Kurt Cobian the man who wrote and played in most of Nirvana's songs dies. This was a major blow on Nirvana and caused them to pause all projects going on at the time. -
"Nirvana" Disbands
Sadly after the tragic loss of Kurt Cobian, it forced "Nirvana" to split up. This caused Dave Grohl to really think about what was to come next. -
Dave Retreats and attends random gigs while looking for a new permanent band
Dave is unable to find himself a band he feels satisfied in and plays like a music "floater and does gigs for bands to make some money. -
The "Foo Fighters" makes there first demo album
Dave with a demo album doesn't want to go through the work of a solo career and hires members from other bands he knows and releases the "Foo Fighters" first album -
Dave Grohl records the instrumentals to the movie "Touch" all by himself
After touring the demo album for a year Dave returns home for two weeks to quickly do the majority of the instruments with little help for the 1997 movie "Touch". After wowing everyone with that he then joined the "Foo Fighters" right after. -
"The Color and the Shape" released
After many months of laboring on the album "The Color and the Shape" finally realizes on May 20th, 1997. This was a major hit for the "Foo Fighters" and kick-started the band's career -
The "Foo Fighters" on tour
The "Foo Fighters take a break from songwriting due to touring and the popularity of the "Foo Fighters". They eventually stopped and in 2002 they release their third album -
Dave Grohl Works with "Queens of the Stone Age"
Dave Grohl takes a break after recording the "One by One" album and he works on drums with "Queens of the Stone Age" and on August 27th, 2002 the "Songs for the Deaf" album releases. -

The "Foo Fighters" 2nd official album releases on October 22nd, 2002 -
2002-2020 The "Foo Fighters" go on a hiatus
Dave Grohl confirms that after the tour that will happen after the pandemic, he will leave the "Foo Fighters" after multiple albums and loads of success you never know whereafter will take him.
