Daniela started playing tennis when she was 9 years of age. -
Daniela Di Toro became a paraplegic
In 1988, Daniela was at her School Swimming Carnival, when a wall fell on top of her. It damaged her legs so badly that she now has to spend her whole life in a wheelchair. While Daniela was in hospital, following her accident, she met Sandy Blythe, a member of the Australian Rollers. He inspired her to continue to play sport. -
Daniela began playing Wheelchair Tennis
After her talk with Sany Blythe, Daniela started to play tennis again, but since she was paralised and needed to be in a wheelchair she played Wheelchair Tennis. -
This is where her dream began
Daniela's special career began in 1989, where she started representing Australia. -
Di Toro won her first Australian Open
1991 was Daniela's glorious celebration of winning the Australian Open for the first time. It put so much faith inside of her to continue this sport. She felt so proud and thought about how lucky she was, and decided she was going to take this a whole lot further. -
Di Toro became a paralympian
1996 was Daniela's first Summer Paralympics (held in Atlanta). She had a great experience and knew that she had to go again. -
The Australian Paralympian Award was Di Toro's
In 1999, Di Toro was the nominated paralympian for the 'Australian Paralympian of the year.' -
Daniela's second time at the Paralympics
Daniela had her second Paralympic experience in the year 2000 (held in Sydney). She won her first Silver medal at the Paralympics, and left with a great, big smile on her face. -
Daniela recieved the 'Young Victorian of the Year' Award
During 2010, Daniela was named the 'Young Victorian of the Year.' She was extremely proud and thankful. -
Daniela's talents of the Kobe Open
The Kobe Open was won by Di Toro, her life got better and better everyday. -
Daniela's first Bronze medal was won in Athens
Daniela was full of joy when she left Athens in 2004. It was her third paralympics, and she won a Bronze medal. 'Better than nothing.' -
Daniela decided to retire
In 2005, Di Toro retired from competitive tennis in order to spend more time studying Chinese medicine. -
Di Toro coached a group of young tennis players
Late 2005, Daniela started coaching tennis to young children at a community centre nearby. -
Daniela came back from her retirement
2007 was a big change for Daniela. Two years after retirement she came back and started training hard. She made a huge comeback. -

Unfortunately Daniela's comeback wasn't big enough to win anything in the 2008, Bejing Paralympics. She didn't train hard enough, which is understandable since she only had a year to do so. -

In 2010 the Japan Open was hers'! Daniela did a stunning job to win! -
The Korean Open was won by Di Toro
2010 was Daniela's lucky year because she also won the Korean Open with a huge smile on her face! -
Daniela was ranked second-best in the world
At the finish of 2010 Di Toro was ranked 2nd in the world. -
Di Toro did not finish the Japanese Open
Sadly, Daniela failed to complete the Japanese Open. During one of her games she got a very inflamed neck. -
Daniela did not perform at the Korean Open
Because of her inflamed neck, Daniela did not get a chance to compete in the Korean Open. -
Di Toro's inflamed neck affected her again
In 2011, Daniela's inflamed neck triggered her again, and because of this reason she had to pull out of the French Open.
