Schooling (1963 to 1965)
In 1963, Daniel Dennett received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Soon after, he went to University of Oxford in Oxford, England where he worked with and studied under Gilbert Ryle. Teaching (1965 to Present)
After receiving his PhD in 1965, Daniel Dennett went to teach at the University of California in Irvine, California where he taught till 1971. In 1971, he moved to Medford, Massachusetts to teach at Tufts University where he was appointed at University Professor. Dennett was later appointed as Austin B. Center for Cognitive Studies (1985)
In 1985, Daniel Dennett became the director of Tufts University’s Center for Cognitive Studies which focuses on research for graduate and undergraduate interdisciplinary programs in cognitive science while providing an administrative home for various research projects in cognitive studies undertaken by the co-directors and their associates. https://ase.tufts.edu/cogstud/dennett/

Published Works (1991 to present)
During his profession, he published several books detailing his theories on consciousness. Consciousness Explained (1991) and Darwin’s Dangerous Idea (1995) observed how natural selection accounts for the evolution of the brain and human consciousness.
