The team will board American Airlines Flight 5051. The flight leaves at 12:01 a.m., it will be 9 hours, and will arrive in Duesseldorf, Germany. Execpet an 1 hour and 45 minute delay. Then the team will board S7 Airlines to get to Moscow,Russia. Total time it takes with the layover is 14 hours. -
Take a Taxi to the Bolshoi Theatre
The team will land in the Moscow airport at 2:00 in the afternoon. There they will take a taxi to go to the Bolshoi Theatre where they will complete their first challenge. The thearte is about 32 miles away from the airport, therefore the cab ride would take around 40 minutes and cost 33 dollars. -
Challange #1 ; Ballet scores part 2
They will have to decode the score and place it onto dancers on the stage. The ballet director will judge of how well the team translates the score on the dancers. If the team shall succeed the director will hand them their first yellow amazing race card as the ticket to their next desination... India! The challange as a whole will take 2 hours and the team will learn how big ballet is in Russia's CULTURE (the behaviors and characteristics of a particular group). -
Taxi Back to Airport
By the time the team finishes the first challenge it will be 4:40 in the afternoon. They will then have to take a taxi back to the airport. It will take another 40 minutes and will cost another 33 dollars. -
Departing from Russia
Once arriving to the airport, the team will board Qatar Airways flight 232 to Doha, Qatar. The flight will be 5 hours and 10 minutes, and should be expected to have a 1 hour and 40 minute layover. The team will then board Qatar Airways Flight 556 to Mumbia, India. This flight will be 3 hours and 55 minutes. The total flight time with the layover is a 10 hours and 25 minutes. They will arrive in Inda on the 21st of May. -
Challenge #1 ; Ballet scores part 1
In this challange the team will discover the delicacy and preciseness of ballet.After walking up the stone steps of the Bolshoi Theater, the team will make their way to one of the most amazing stages in the world and one of the ACTIVITY SITES(the space within which daliy activy occurs) of Russian dancers.This is where the team will learn Russia is the HEARTH (the area where an idea or culture trait originates) of ballet scoring.The team will be given a score of ballet and a key. -
Take a Taxi to D2E Dance Studio
After taking their refreshing 6 hour naps, the team will then ride in a taxi to the D2E Dance Studio where they will complete their seccond challenge which will teach them all about the style of Bollywood. The taxi ride will be 8 miles, 21 minutes, and will cost 8 dollars. -
Take Taxi Back to the Airport
Australia!The team will be traveling to Australia right after they recive their yellow Amazing Race card. Their Bollywood class will end at 2:30 pm and then they will take a taxi back to the Mumbai airport. the taxi ride will be 7 miles, 25 minutes, and will cost 7 dollars. the team will arrive at the airport at 2:42 pm. -
Challenge #2 ; Bollywood dance class part 1
The team will arrive at the D2E dance studio around 12:23 pm and their traditional Indian Bollywood dance class will start at 1:00 in the afternoon. The team will be able to wear traditional Bollywood clothing including a 'Sari' a traditional patterned and sequenced dress worn by women and a 'Dhoti' which is a traditional cloth that wraps around the waist and drapes between the leg worn by men. These clothing peices are big CULTURE TRAITS (a single attribute of culture) in India. -
Challenge #2 ; Bollywood dance class part 2
The traditional dressing of Bollywood dancers are also ARTIFACTS (object made by human beings, either hand-made or mass-produced; preseved) of the the Indian culture. Bollywood dance is a DENOMINATION(Divisions of branches that unite local groups in a single body) of the realm of dance. The team will also learn more about the different denominations of dance throughout the rest of the race. Once they complete the class they will be handed their seccond Amazing Race card and their ticket for... -
Walk to Find the Hotel
After arriving in Mumbai, India at 4:55 am, the team will have to walk from the airport to try and find their hotel, the Hyatt Regency Mumbai. The hotel is only 1 mile away from the airport and will only take around 15 mintues to walk there. Once they reach their destination, the team will be able to sleep for 6 hours to rest up for their next challnge. -
Departing from India
The team will board Jet Airway Flight 10. It leaves at 3:30 pm and will take 5 hours and 40 minutes. The plane will land at 9:30 pm and expect a 2 hour and 20 minutes layerover in Singapore. The team will then board Jet Airway flight 4082 at 11:50 pm. This flight will last for 7 hours and 50 minutes letting the team sleep on the plane. The plane will land at 7:40 on the morning of May 22. -
Take Taxi to Sydney Dance Company
After landing In Sydney, Australia at 7:40 in the morning, the team will take a taxi to the Sydney Dance Company. The ride will be 21 miles, it will take 20 minutes, and will cost 12 dollars. They will arrive at the dance company at 8:00 am. -
Challenge #3 ; Contemporary part 1
The Sydney Dance Company is right over the water and you can see the ocean from all of the studios. This challenge will take place in one of the open sunlight studios. Just like classical ballet, contempoary dance tells stories through movement and make shapes with their bodies. For this challenge dancers will be dancing and while they are dancing they will be either telling a story, or making shapes. The team will have to translate the stories/shape being made/told. -
Challenge #3 ; Contemporary part 2
When they beleive they have the right answers the team will run over to the Sydney Opera House. The Opera House is .9 miles away and will take 19 minutes to run there. There the team will get up on stage and tell their answers to an audience while the dancers are dancing it out behind them. If they are correct then the director of the company will hand them their 3rd Amazing Race card and ticket to... Ireland! -
Taxi Back to Airport
After the team completes their challenge at the Sydney Opera House, they will then take a taxi back to the Sydney airport. The car ride will be 8.4 miles, 16 mintues, and it will cost 8 dollars and 40 cents. They will arrive at 10:45 am and their next flight to Ireland will depart at 2:50 pm. -
Challenge #3 ; Contemporary part 3
Through CULTURAL DIFFUSION (the spread of ideas, customs, and technologies from one people to another) contemporary dance spread throughout the world and reached Sydney. Contemporary dance is a part of Sydney's POPULAR CULTURE (culture found in a large society that shares habits despite differences in characteristics) and even the rest of the world. Dance is a STANDARD LANGUAGE (the form of a language used for official government and mass communication) terms have the same name in any language. -
Departing from Australia
The team will board Etihad Airway flight 10 at 2:50 pm. The flight will be 14 hours and 35 minutes, which gives the team pleanty of time to sleep, and will land in Abu Dhabi, United Arb Emirates at 5:25 am on May 23. -
Taxi to the Airport
The team will finish their last challenge around 10:27 am. The team will then take a taxi back to the city of Cork so they can countinue on to there next and final destination of the race...Belize! The taxi ride will be 209 miles, 3 hours and 58 minutes long, and it will cost 209 dollars. They will arrive at the airport at 2:24 pm. -
Traveling to Ireland
In Abu Dhabi, there will be a layover that will last 3 hours and 5 minutes. They will then board Etihad Airways flight 15 at 8:30 am. That flight will be 8 hours and 20 minutes letting the team sleep more. The plane will land in Manchester, England at 4:25 pm. There will be an 1 hour and 55 minute layover. The last plane will be Etihad Airway fight 7944 at 6:20 pm. The flight will be 1 hour and 40 minutes and will land in Cork, Ireland at 8:00 pm. -
Challenge #4 part 1 ; Irishing Dancicing part 1
The Hynan School of Irish Dancing is right across the street from the airport, so once their plane lands the team will cross the street to the school. Teachers from the dance school will teach the team a history lesson of Irish dancing. After listening to the lesson and taking notes, they will have to take a test. If they pass, the teachers will hand them an Amazing Race card so they can continue on in Ireland. This part of the challange will be 1 hour and 30 minutes and finish at 8:32 pm. -
Challenge #4 part 1 ; Iriah Dancing part 2
By taking a history lesson irish dancing the team and the teachers theaching are taking part in CULTURAL TRANSMITION (the process by which one generation passes culture to the next). In the lesson the team will learn about the GLOBALIZATION (the expansion of economic, political, and cultural processes to the point that they become global in scale and impact. The processes of globalization transcend state boundaries and have outcomes that vary across places and scales) of Irish dancing. -
Taxi to Hotel
After the team recive their yellow ticket, they will need to get in a taxi and drive to the Kilmore hotel in Country Cavan, Ireland. It is 227 miles away, it will take 3 hours and 44 minutes to get there, and will cost 227 dollars. The team will arrive at the hotel at 11:17 pm. After a night of rest the team will leave the hotel at 8:00 am and drive to the Welan Footwear Factory. It will be15 miles, 27 minutes, and 15 dollars. -
Challenge #4 part 2 ; Irishing dancing part 1
The team arrives at the factory at 7:27 am. First, the team will have to watch the workers as they assemble the tradtional irish dancing shoes. After carefully watching how the shoes are made, the team members themselves will have to correctly make a line of irish dancing shoes. If they can make the majority of the shoes correctly, the workers will then hand them their ticket. The factory is an example of EXPANSION DIFFUSION (the number of those influenced grows continuously larger). -
Departing form Ireland
The team's flight out of Ireland will depart at 5:00 pm. They will board Aer Lingus flight 712 ; it will be 1 hour and 20 minutes. They will land at 6:20 pm in London, England and will have a 1 hour and 40 minute layover. The team will then board British Airway flight 205 at 8:00. This flght will be 10 hours and 10 minutes giving the team time to sleep. They will land at 6:10 am in Miami, FLorida on May 24th. -
Traveling to Belize
After landing in Miami, Florida the team will have a 12 hour and 55 minute layover. Then at 7:05 pm, the team will board Brithish Airways flight 5207. The flight will be 2 hours and 22 minutes landing in Belize City, Belize at 9:27pm. -
Taxi to Hotel
After landing in Belize at 9:27pm on May 23rd, the team will have to rake a taxi to their hotel, the Hummingbird Guest Lodge. The Lodge is 105 miles away, it will take 2 hours and 15 ,imutes to get there, and will cost 10 dollars. They will get to the hotel at 11:42 pm. -
Taxi to John Canoe Festival
After a nights rest, The team will get into a taxi and drive to the John Canoe Festival at 10:00 am. The festival is 41.5 miles away, 57 minutes, and will cost 41.50 dollars. They will get to the festival at 8:57 am. -
Taxi to Airport
The team's challenge will finish aroud 3:00 in the afternoon; they must now take taxi back to the airport in Belize City. The drive will be 105 miles, 2 hours and 13 minutes, and will cost 105 dollars. They will reach the airport at 5:15 in the afternoon. -
Depart from Belize
The team will depart from Belize City at 10:00 pm. They will board American Airlines flight 1419. The flight will last 1 hour and 59 minutes. -
Challenge #5 ; John Canoe part 1
John Canoe is a very traditional type of dance in the country of Belize. The John Canoe Festival is a huge Festival in the little town of North Dangriga where everybody completly lets go letting their spirts shine. In this challenge the team will have to learn a traditional John Canoe dance from some people on the streets of the festival. Once they have learned the dance, the team themselve will have to preform the dance in the festival. -
Challenge #5 ; John Canoe
Once the team has completed their dance, the locals will give them their finall Amazing Race ticket. The little town of North Dangriga is a FUNCTUAL REGION (A region defined by the particular set of activities or interactions that occur within it) defined by the style of John Canoe. This festival is CUSTOM (Practice routinely followed by a group of people) within these people. John Canoe is apart of the FOLK CULTURE (Cultural traits such as dress modes,traditions, of traditional communities. -
Arriving in Miami
The team will land from their flight from Belize at 12:00 am on May 26th. That will conclude thier Amazing Race journey; They had just Danced Around The World for 7 days. What an amazing week!
