Germany tried to bomb Great Britain so they could destroy Great Britain's air force and invade. Great Britain fought off Germany and won. Pearl Harbor

Battle of Midway
Japanese tried to eliminate the U.S. Pacific Fleet but the U.S. did a surprise attack on the Japanese. They destroyed four Japanese carriers, one cruiser, 292 aircraft and killed 2,500. Battle of Guadalcanal
U.S. launches a surprise attack in Guadalcanal on Japan airbase. It forced Japan to retreat. Japan brought back up and the U.S. was at a disadvantage but they ended up winning. Battle of Stalingrad
Almost 2 million people were killed or injured. Russians were losing and were in desperate need of more soldiers. The Allied forces attacked the German forces with 150,000 soldiers on the coast of Normandy, France. The Allies set up a fake attack so the Germans didn't know where they were going to attack at. Battle of the Bulge
There was horrible weather conditions and a lot of people died from the cold. Germans dressed up as Americans. They would ask them American trivia to see if they were German or American. The Allies ended up winning the battle.

Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima

The Japanese surrendered after the atomic bombs. They signed the surrender on September 2, 1945.
