    Birth
This is the most important day of my life because I entered the world and my life journey begins.
  • New sister

    New sister
This was the day that my sister was born, this is one of my earliest memories because I was so excited that I was going to be a big sister. I was also excited that I had someone to play with and share holiday traditions with such as making crafts and playing games.
  • Meeting the Family

    Meeting the Family
This is the first time I remember celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with my immediate family at my grandfathers house. My sister and I were the youngest out of all my cousins, and we had fun playing with the older kids. My cousins and I would play different games such as volleyball, one legged race, and ring toss. We would also help cook the meal and set the table. This was the only time that all my family would get together.
  • Christmas Traditions

    Christmas Traditions
Christmas was always my favorite time of year. One Christmas tradition that mt mom started that I remember the most is we would put out the Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving. We would also drive around looking at Christmas lights eating Sonic Ice cream. On Christmas Eve we would go to church that evening and open up one gift when we got home. Christmas Day we would go to my grandparents house to open up gifts with everyone.
  • Death in the Family

    Death in the Family
My grandmother passed away during the Spring. After she passed away we stopped getting together for Thanksgiving and Christmas because my grandfather wanted to spend the Holiday's alone and everyone else in my family got to busy to plan out family gatherings. Holiday's were never the same again and my family grew distant.
  • Easter Holiday's

    Easter Holiday's
When I was on high school my aunt started the tradition of celebrating Easter by camping together with my cousins , and my grandfather. We would cook peach cobbler on a open fire and look for glow in the dark Easter Eggs the night before Easter.
  • Christmas Celebration Change

    Christmas Celebration Change
When I first meet my husband my Christmas Holiday traditions completly changed. We would drive to Iowa every Christmas to spend time with his family. I started becoming involved in his famlies Christmas Traditions such as spending Christmas Eve with his grandparents and making chili with cinnamon rolls. We would also always have a big breakfast with my brother and sister inlaw and we would open up the gifts together while his mom took pictures.
  • Grandfather Passed Away

    Grandfather Passed Away
My grandfather passed away, and this caused the camping tradition to diminish. His passing started a big family feud over my grandfather's will and splitting up his assets. After my grandfather's passing my husband and I would spend Easter at my parents with my sister.
  • Sharing Holidays

    Sharing Holidays
My sister got married, and this caused us to start switching each year who's house that we celebrated Thanksgiving and Easter traditions. My sister's in laws also started to join us for Holiday dinners. This started causing tension between my sister and I because we had different views on traditions. She was more conservative and wanted a more traditional dinner and I wanted to celebrate the Holidays different and non traditional.
  • New Family Member

    New Family Member
I become a aunt and Holiday's become more important and meaningful. The main focus for the Holiday's was around the new baby in the family and traditions started to become more important at each Holiday and more effort was being put into making Holiday traditions more elaborate.
