The United States declares war on Spain after the U.S.S Maine was blown up while traveling to Cuba. -

The war ends between Spain and America with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Spain gives the U.S. Puerto Rico, Guam, and Phillipines. They also agree to let Cuba have their independence although Cuba did not ask to be independent fro Spain. -
