The Third Continental Congress was convened 8 days after the Second Continental Congress was broke off. The purpose was different than the previous Congresses. Having signed the Declaration of Independence the delegates needed to create a government and deal with the conflict with Britain.

The articles joined the states but all the states were independent. The articles had many flaws and they were resolved when the consitiution was created.

This is when the treaty of paris between great britain and the U.S. ended the revolutionary war. It was signed in September of 1783 but not ratified by congress till Jan 14th 1784.

Farmers were not getting paid for their work during the revolutionary war and that turned to violent battles. Their farms were being foreclosed on and they were paying even more taxes.
