The War Begins
The land was controlled by a weak confederation that was constantly ransacked by outside forces. The states within the confederation refused to work together, allowing for the surrounding nations to take advantage of it. In a disagreement over how to work together two of the 9 states began feuding quickly dragging in the other states until tension exploded into a bloody war. -

Battle of 1457
After 57 long years of small skirmishes equalling heavy loses, a major battle took place in the mountains surrounding the ruins of the main capital. This was the bloodiest battle of the last 57 years. At the end of this fight, there were no winners, only people tired of fighting for a forgotten reason. -

The End of The War: Convention of The Factions
The factions of both sides came together at the old capital and decided to call an end to the 57-year war that destroyed their people over petty disagreements. The 5 factions that emerged decided to work together to build a place where all could live in harmony rather than in fear and hate. -

Creation of Kotania
The 5 factions came together again to vote on systems of government their people saw fit to govern themselves. Five elected representatives came from each faction to share ideas and their own influencing dogmas to base the government on. This created the Council. -
Oct 31, 1470
The Assembly
The Council of Kotania struggled with separating powers between the members and decided that another branch was needed to handle certain affairs. Thus, creating the Assembly to assist in handling legislative matters. -

Year of Diplomacy
This year, Kotania set up talks with the surrounding nations offering their friendship to each as long, as they were allowed to remain separate from physical wars as they believed they had suffered enough before the creation of Kotania. Its leaders were able to improve relations among the surrounding nations in this year as it allowed them a place of neutrality to resolve their issues peacefully. This year of diplomacy set the precedent of Kotania's affection toward peace.
