Battle of Britain
Hitler launches a massive air raid on Britain. The British are able to survie the bombings and even shoot down incoming Luftwaffe. They used the latest tecnology to help stop the Luftwaffe, radar which helped them mobolize their spitfires in time to stop some of the bombhing raids. This is Hitlers first major defeat. -
U.S. joins the War
The Sleeping Giant has woken and nothing will stop it until it has run it's coures and defeated the Nazis. America is now part of the War and this marks a Turning point because now teh Nazis have to fight a defenceive war. -
Start of the Pacific theater
We were in war mode. The country began producing tanks, battleships and planes. It marks the start of a major Americna offensive that could not be stopped no mater how hard the Japanese fought. -
Pearl Harbor
America now has true reasons to go to war and the country has united to defeat the Japanese and get revenge for what they did in Pearl Harbor. Now the full might of America will come crushing down on Japan -
Battle of the Coral Sea
It is considered a tactical victory for the Japanese but a stratregic victory for the Allies because it is the first time the Japanese offensive was halted and it is the first time both navies rellied heavilhy on aircraft carriesrs to win the battle. It resulted in the destructrion of two Japanese carriers. when Midway took place a few months later the Japanese fleet woul loose this battle because of teh loose of the two carriers and it's inablity to get planes into the air. -
Battle of Midway
This is the first major battle where battle ships never saw each other and the fleets relied heavly on aircraft carriers. It is a major blow to the Japanese fleet they loose 3 carriers, two of them were destroyed because they left munition cartes on the deck of the ships. It is also the first Battle of the American offensive. -
stalingrad
This is the turning point in the war the Nazi 6th army is destroyed and the surivers a captured. this also marks the begining of a major Soivet offencive that Hitler would never be able to recover from. -
Start of the war in the European Theater
The full might of the American military is about to rain down on Germany. Massive amounts of muniton, planes and ships are sent to England as well as thousands of soldiers are sent to help defeat the Germans. -
D-day
the first major Allied offensize. It is a massive invasion involing tousands of planes, ships and troops. This is the begining of the liberation of France and the end of the Nazi regime. -
Battle of the Bulge
this is the last straw for the Nazis they throw this last major offensive in the hope of stopping the American advance, this is the bloodiest battle Americans fought in on the European front. -
Iwo Jima
With the conquest of the Island American B-52 bombers could now fly to Japan with out haveing to worry about getting shot down while flying over Iwo Jima. The conquest of this island took a full month and was never fully captured until later it cost thousands of American lives to capture. The Japanese suffered appaling casulaties. -
V-E day
This is the end of the European front and marks the fall of the Nazi empire. Now America can focuse all of it's military might into defeating the Japanese -
Hiroshima
This is the first time the atomic bomb had ever been used in history. Even when an entire city is wiped out the Japanese still refuse to surrender they still believe they have a chance at defeating the American Navy. -
Nagasaki
This is the last bomb to hit Japan after Nagasaki the Japanese are forced to surrender ending the war. -
V-J day
The war is over the Allies have won.
