Bataan Death March
It was the forcible transfer by the Imperial Japanese Army of 60-80,000 Filipino and American prisoners of war after the three-month Battle of Bataan in the Philippines. During this march many were mudered as well as put under various forms of physical abuse. -
Battle of the Coral Sea
It was a major battle in the Pacific between the Imperial Japanese Navy and allied naval air forces formt he US and Australia. U.S. won this battle and it was the first battle in which air crafts engaged against eachother. It ended on May 8, 1942. -
Battle of Midway
This was the most improtant naval battle of the Pacific campaign. The US Navy defeated an Imperial Japanese Navy attack. The Japanese planned this attack in hopes to take down the US from Pacific superiority. Code breakers were used to get information from the Japanese codes as to when they were giong to attack. It ended on June 7, 1942. -
