Battle of Britain is the name given to the air force waged war by Germany against Britain from July 10th to October 31st 1940. It was significant because it got the United States to finally acknowledge the war by giving Britain 50 destroyers to fight back against Germany. -

Bataan Death March
Was the forced transfer of 60-80,000 POW's by the Japanese Army after the battle of Bataan in the Philipines. Was a 80 mile march of physical abuse and murder by the Japanese army. Significance was that after the war was sentenced a war crime. -
Battle of Coral Sea
Was a major naval battle in the Pacific Theatre in 1942 between Japan and the Allied Naval forces with USA and Australia. The significance of this battle is that it was the first battle where neither ship saw eachother ever. There was no winner or loser because of massive losses in ships by both the USA and Japan. This battle haulted Japan in taking over Port Moresby. -
Battle of Midway
Was the most important naval battle in the Pacific Campaign, Between USA and Japan. Only 6 months after and a little after Coral Sea. The significance of this battle is that the USA Navy decisively defeated the Japanese Navy, and causes irreparable damage to the Japanese fleet. -
Battle of Stalingrad
Is one of the major and decisive battle of WWII if not the most decisive. Its significance is that in this battle there 2 million casualties which really weakened the Nazi army, after this battle Germany was not able to regain its past strength. Ended February 2nd 1943. -
