Battle of the Coral Sea
A major naval battle between the Japanese Navy and the U.S. and Australian air forces. First battle where aircraft carriers engaged each other. Japan won in the sense of ships sunk, however the allies won because in the end they were the reason for Japans defeat in World War II. -
Battle of Midway
This was the most important naval battle of the Pacific campaign of WW2. Japan planned to lure the U.S. aircraft carriers and to occupy Midway. However, the U.S defeated Japans attck on Midway which caused trouble to the Japanese troops. -
Battle of El Alamein
This battle was fought in the North African deserts. It was fought between Germany and Italy. This battle drove Acis armies into Egypt and the second battle would be used to drive them out for good. -
