Rape of Nanjing
In their invasin of China, Japan's loseely led troops marched into Nanjing, China and created lots of violence. The Japanes troops killed anyone in sight and even killed pregnant women. More than 20,000 Chinese women were raped and killed by Japanes troops. More than 300,000 Chinese were left dead. -

Battle of El Alamein
Two battles taken place in 1942 in Northern Africa. The battle was critical for the Allies to win so that they could be in control of the Suez Canal. The Allies won and Germans surrendered. -
Battle of Stalingrad
This battle was considered a turning point in the war due to the Germany's failed attempt of taking Stalingrad (Soviet Union) in their possession. Germany did not win and had to reatreat.This attack made the Germany weak in their East attacks. -
Battle of Tarawa
The US began its pacific fight against Japan when attacking the Tarawa Atoll. The battle lasted 76 hours and was bloody. The US gained the island. -

Battle of the Bulge
This battle was a series of attacks by the Germans in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. The Germans were defeated by the US and Britain and this showed that Germany was soon going to lose their position of being strong in the war. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
This battle was the fight of US Armed Forces fightng for the Japanes islands of Iwo Jima. Having the islands in the US's possession would help to make bases for the US so that it could be close to Japan to stage attacks. America won the bloody battle. -
