Discovery of the Covid-19
On December the 31st 2019, China reported a cluster of cases of pneumonia with an unknown etiology in Wuhan. Two weeks later China officially announced the existence of a new virus called COVID-19. -
Arrival in Spain
On January the 31st, the first case of COVID-19 in Spain was confirmed. The infected person was a man of German nationality that was on The Canarian Islands. -
Arrival in Italy
Italy's first COVID-19 case was detected on February the 21st in a little town near Milan. -
Confinement
The state of alertness was declared on March the 13th. It was supposed to last only two weeks, but finally we spent 2 months confined at home. -
Sanitary collapse
On April the 5th, hospitals started being collapsed. There wasn't neither enough staff nor protection material. -
End of the confinement in phases
The end of the confinement in phases started officially the 21st of June, after 98 days of the state of alertness. -
The British strain
The first genome of that British strain was detected on September the 20th in Kent. -
Second wave
On October the 25th, the central government decreed again the alarm state but without a new general confinement. -
The vaccine
People started getting vaccinated on December the 27th in Spain. -
Third wave
On January the 7th, the third wave started, two million cases were detected.
