    Rome began to get cosmetics from other places. The women became obsessed with expensive high-end makeup. The government had a big problem with this and outlawed it for six years.

    This is when movie stars were wearing makeup. This encouraged others to follow the trends to look like their favorite celebrities. They wore a lot of mascara and dark eye shadows to look mysterious.

    After the Second World War, cosmetics took off. Makeup became an international business. The women used makeup to look more put together and graceful.

    The 60's were very colorful as well as the makeup. People wore many bright colors on their eyes and false lashes. In the 60's the attention was all about the eyes.

    In the beginning years of the 70's, it was still natural looking like the 60's. Towards the end of the 70's people began to do more glam looks. During this time women of color began to advertise these looks of makeup.

    people wore color wherever they could. They had bright pink blush and lips and neon eyes. this is when people started putting makeup on the "browbone".

    These were some rough times. Heavy self-tanner was very common as well as heavy bronzer. The "concealer lips" were necessary for the look. They used crazy bright pink or coral blush and To top the look off shimmery silver eyeshadow.

    Makeup nowadays is more of a "clean look". People think less is more and just want dewy skin. Women and men now both wear makeup. We wear natural-looking brows, natural lip colors, and false lashes. Sometimes even a glittery eyeshadow to brighten up the eyes.
