Reagan orders CIA to give arms to Contras
Equipment, and money were also given to put pressure on the regime. -
1st Boland Amendment
The first Boland Amendment in passed , which barrs the "the use of funds ' for the purpose of 'overthrowing the government in Nicaragua and Honduras. -

2nd Boland Amendment
No funds available to CIA or other agencies for support of any military or paramilitary operations in Nicaragua. Boland states that U.S. Support for the contras gives the FSLN an excuse to be repressive and undemocratic. -
