PlayStation 2
The PS2 was released in 2000 at the selling price of $299. This system doubled as a DVD player and supported PS1 games. -
PlayStation Portable (PSP)
The PSP was released in 2004 at the selling price of $249. This was PlayStations first handheld gaming system. It included a memory card, LCD screen, built in web browser and games were stored on a mini disk. -
PlayStation 3
The PS3 was released in 2006 at the selling price of $499. This version had a Blue-Ray Drive, HDMI output and advanced visual graphics. It also supported PS2 games. -
PlayStation Vita
The PS Vita was released in 2013, sold for $249 and was PlayStations second attempt at a handheld device. The technology was considered ahead of its time but was short lived for many factors to include pricing, and competition with competitors.

PlayStation 4
The PS4 was released in 2013 at the selling price of $499. The PS4 advanced to live game streaming, virtual reality game play and the PlayStation plus subscription for online games. -
PlayStation 5
The PS5 was released in 2020 at the selling price of $499. This is the most current version which offers better graphics and RAM, and faster game loading times. This system was difficult to purchase as an industry wide chip shortage kept supply low and demand high.
