Articles of Confederation
In 1777, The Articles of Confederation were written in hope to create a central government that all states would follow. At first it was weak because it gave the states too much freedom and power. The government couldn’t tax the states because they didn’t have the power. The congress could coin money, appoint military officers, and declare war. The congress was the states way to access other countries.
