    Magna Carta
    This was established by King John of England. The goal of this was to creat peace between the king and the noblemen, protection of church rights, protection for the nobleman from illegal imprisonment, swift justice, and limitations on money payments to the crown. This was inforced by 25 noblemen. This is connected with the first amendment

    This was the first goverment document for the Pylmouth Colony. It was written by the male passenfers on the Mayflower. The puritans were in search for religous freedom, and fleeing from King James.THis is connected with the 14 ammendment

    Fundamental Orders of Connecticut
    This is the goverment set up by the Connectituc River towns. ONe big thing they wanted was to be able to trade on the river. This also gave men more voting rights and gave more men the opertunity to run for elected positions.This is connected with the article 5.
  • English Bill of Rights

    This was established in England, it sets a guid line of basic civil rights and who would inherit the Crown once the king has past. This sets limits on power for the monarch. It also states the rights of Parliament, including the requirment for normal parliaments, freedom of speech in Parliament and free elections.this connects with the article one

    This was what turned the colonies of British America against New France. At the begining the French only had 60,000 settlers and Britsh had 2 million. Becasue of this the French depended on the Indians very much.this connecs to it because it pays off diet. Article 1, section 8, part 11.

    Suggested by Benjamin Franklin, this was a plan to create a unified goverment for the Thirteen Colonies. This was one of the early events of trying to form a union for the colonies. This was a quote created "under one government as far as might be necessary for defense and other general important purposes."

The stamp act was a tax put on all printed paper, including newspapers, playing cards, ship's papers, and all legal documents.The sugar act the act provided for strict enforcement. The last was the tea act allow the East India company to sell tea at a lower price than the colonial merchants

    First Continental Congress
    12 to 13 British delegates from differant colonies meet, whitch became the Unived States. They meet from September 5 to October 26, 1774. They agreed on an economic boycott on British trade and to also urged each colony to set up and train their own military.

    Second Continental Congress
    Was a meeting where delegates from the Thirteen Colonies meet in America and united in the American Revolutionary War. Then soon the congress agreed to the Declaration of Independence. Some things they also achevied was successfully managing the war effort; drafting the Articles of Confederation, the first U.S. Constitution; securing diplomatic recognition and support from foreign nations; and resolving state land claims west of the Appalachian Mountains.

    This explained why the Thirteen Colonies were at war with Great Britain and how they will no longer be ruled under British. This was the first step of forming the United States. Representatives from New Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia all signed the Declaration.

    This was agreed on with the origanal 13 states of the united states. The main idea of this was to preserve the independence and sovereignty of the states.This showed the rules of how each states "league of friendship" would be organized.

    this was a fight in Western Massachusetts. This started becasue citizens were mad about the increased taxes on individuals and trades. Daniel Shays was the leader of four thousand rebels.

    Virginia proposed to form a bicameral legislative branch. This also proped that legislaters coulf veto a state law if they could show it was incompatibl with the articles of union. This was the first to propos the idea of population-weighted representation.

    this was a compremise amoung the states during the 178. This was to determan if slaves should be counted for the states population. They wanted this because the higher a stastes population the more seats the got in Congress.

    This was made for the srtucture of the United States Goverment. This is a spin off of the Virgina plan. This calls for two houses in congress, both elected in, but kept the one-vote-per-state representation under one legislative body. This helped the less populated states.
