The countries still had some tentrion on the verge of a war. Mexico tried to purchase California and New Mexico, but failed. The US started to pusht their troops down. Mexico declared this as invasion and on May 11 1846 the congress declared war on Mexico, After 2 years of fighting the war was finished after the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed. -

A group of African Americans and white abolitionists saved 4 fugitive enslaved people in town, A year after the second fugitive slave law was passed that's when the violence started, The law stated that the return of everyone that escaped was required to come back, One of the members of the group was killed while 2 others got injured.
