    The war started in 1948 and lasted a couple years and the cause of the war was the conflict of the creation of Israel in Arab lands. The war ended in a peace treaty in 1978.

    The Arabs were determined to take back their land so they launched the Yom Kippur War in 1973. The attack was a surprise and Israel was unprepared.
  • Intifada

    After the war ended there were still left over tensions between the countries as Israel started building settlements near Gaza. In 1987 Palestinians launched the intifada within the streets of the West Bank and Gaza.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    Egypt decided they wanted to make peace with Israel so the U.S. invited both countries to Camp David to make a peace agreement. Egypt agreed to recognize Israel and Israel returned the Sinai Peninsula; the treaty ended 30 years of war.
