Exposition
Haley, the main character was walking home from school with her friend Meghan. It was Halloween, and they saw pumpkins for sale. So Meghan decided to take one and she said she'll pay later. But, Haley was warning her not to take one. So, turns out she stole the pumpkin because the police showed up and Meghan's and Haley's parents had to pick them up from the police station.When Haley got home she was grounded and was not allowed to go trick or treating. -
Rising Action
Devon is Haley's friend, but his girlfriend is Haley's ex-best friend, Artie. Artie is involved in the play at their school and Devon asks Haley if she wants to make cupcakes for the fundraiser they would have the day of the play. Haley is a master at baking cupcakes. Devon always loves her cupcakes.So, Haley said yes. Also, Haley found out she had to have Thanksgiving wth her dad and his girlfriend. Haley wasnt happy because she liked it with her mom better. -
Haley Helps Marco
Haley is really smart and her friend Marco always needs help with his math. So, Haley always offers to help. One time when they were taking a math test, Marco was stuck and asked haley for help. so Haley secretly gave Marco some of her answers. -
Early Thanksgiving
Haley's parents are divorced, so Haley's dad has a girlfriend, Annie.Annie invited Haley's dad, Haley, and Haley's younger sister Chloe to her country club on Thanksgiving. Haley was not excited to do that because she liked having Thanksgiving at her own house with her mom, grandma, and Chloe. Haley had an early Thanksgiving with her family at her house before she went with her dad. -
Climax-Thanksgiving
Haley felt sick after her early Thanksgiving dinner, so she told her dad she didn't want to go, but he didn't listen. So when they got to the country club Annie's parents were alrady seated. When dinner was almost over Haley felt so sick that she puekd into the bread basket! She ran straight to the restroom. Annie's mom was a doctor, so thats how Haley found out she had a severe reaction to lobster. She had eaten lobster at her early Thanksgiving dinner. After that Haley was mad at her dad. -
Falling Action
Mr. Carter, the math teacher passed back all the math tests he graded, but Marco and Haley were the only ones who didn't get theirs back. All they got back was a note that said "see me after class". So after class they went up to Mr. Carter and he told them that he thought one of them was cheating. So, he said he would be nice and give them each a 48%, or if one of them admitted that they cheated they would get a zero and the other one would get a 96%. Haley took the blame in the end. -
Resolution
In the end, Haley makes up with her dad. Her dad takes her and Chloe to have dinner and a movie at his apartment. Everyone was happy. Also Marco took Haley to an art exhibit and Haley gets her ninety six percent that she was supposed to get on her math test back. -
Indirect Characterazation
"When things get this bad, there's only one thing to do, so I head behind the counter to bake cupcakes." This shows that Haley is the kind of girl who loves to bake cupcakes. "But I still wouldn't apalogize to Dad." Haley said this after she let Meghan steel the pumpkin because her dad was mad at her.This quote shows that she is sort of stubborn. -
Direct Chracterazation
"Bacause you're funny and smart and make awesome cupecakes?" This is something Meghan said about Haley. It is true, Haley is smart, funny, and makes awesome cupcakes. "She knows I have a crush on Devon-she wants to make me jealous." This shows that when Artie is hanging out with Devon,Haley feels jealous because she likes Devon.
