    Y2K
The old apocalypse that the changing of the millennium would cause. A bug in calendar software. Something I remember vaguely from being that young but only wisps. Not sure who specifically fixed the issue since it was the work of many.

    Computer History 2000-2010

  • Bluetooth Headset

    Bluetooth Headset
Released around 2001. I tried to find a specific model for the below picture. The first commercial model was by Nokia. Bluetooth technology itself was developed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, developed in 1997. An odd company name but an important technology. Airpod's Bluetooth, unlocks your Waymo when you arrive Bluetooth. The amount of shows that made fun of people wearing one of these on an ear was funny.
  • Windows XP

    Windows XP
A landmark in Operating systems. To this day machines still run Windows XP due to the sheer cost of updating their machines to a newer OS. If their software is even compatible with a newer OS. A massive security issue that persists. Released by Microsoft
  • I Pod Shuffle

    I Pod Shuffle
A device I hold dear to my heart. I owned one of these before I received my first smartphone the 4s years later. Made by Apple. A cheap portable music player. A nice replacement for the DVD player I used to have.
  • Blu-Ray

    Blu-Ray
The winning disc format. Beating out HD DVD because of the expense of an HD DVD player. And the fact Blu Rays could be played on a PS3. Makes sense since Sony made the format. It's now the default format for physical video media.
  • The First I Phone

    The First I Phone
A major popularizing force behind Smart Phones. The first phone was a landmark in the field. Released by Apple in 2007 it took the world by storm, later the 4s soared.
