    This supercomputer helped with research of AIDS. Invented by Intel and released in 1990, this computer was funded by the US government and CalTech used it for some time.

    In 1990, Adobe Photoshop was released. It was invented by John and Thomas Knoll in the 80s, but Adobe took an interest to it in 1989 and released it in 1990.

    AOL Instant Messenger
    This allowed a chat feature with people you know. It was invented by AOL and released in May of 1997. Unlike chat rooms, AIM allowed you to have your own interface not open to public.
