    A USB flash drive is a portable data storage device that includes flash memory with an integrated USB interface. It is also known as a jump drive, thumb drive, or pin drive. The first use of flash memory was developed in the 1980s by Fujio Masuoka. On April 5, 1999, Amir Ban, Dov Moran, and Oron Ogdan of M-Systems filed a patent application for the first USB drive. The patent was granted on November 14, 2000. USB drives quickly became popular with consumers.

The most popular MP3 popular was the Apple iPod. The first MP3 players were launched in 1997 by SaeHan Information Systems. On October 23, 2001, Apple launched the iPod and the popularity of the MP3 players soared. Apple rivals included companies like Sony's Walkman and Sandisk's Lil Monsta.

    Blackberry OS was the first smart phone technology. It was developed by Research In Motion (RIM) in 2000 and launched 3-4-2002. The BlackBerry Pearl featured a multi-media system that included a camera, email, internet, and a QWERTY keyword. Blackberry reached its height in 2007 when consumers started to transition to other brands like Apple and Galaxy.
