Toru Iwatani, the game developer, started working on it in 1979 and released it in 1980. He stated Pac-Man was man so he could make video games more appealing to woman. He felt most video-game themes were very masculine. Today, you can find this game being playable all over the United States. Whether that be in a bar that has a Namco standing arcade machine or on a PC at home, this game has enhanced many lives. -
CD (Compact Disc)
CD's also known as compact discs, were first made in 1982 releasing in Japan. One year later in 1983, they were released to North America while growing lots of popularity. The inventor of the first CD's were the company Phillips and Sony. They were originally two separate companies but decided to create a strong partnership. -
Microsoft Windows
Microsoft Windows, the worlds first computer operating system was created and founded by Bill Gates. With growing popularity, Microsoft became one of the worlds most popular personal-computer software companies. When their first operating system was released, they were in competition with Apple who was also releasing lots of newer technology. Microsoft decided to add extra apps such as Paint and Notepad to get ahead of the competition. -
Gameboy
The first Gameboy was released in Japan in 1989 by Gunpei Yokoi and Satoru Okada, research and development team for Nintendo. This was one of the first hand-held gaming consoles to come out with a dox-matrix display, a directional pad, a built-in speaker, and containing gamepak cartridges. It had many mixed reviews due to its many competitors such as SEGA and Atari. But because of the Gameboys performance, battery life and affordability their sales skyrocketed. -
World Wide Web
Tim Berners-Lee, a british scientist, first came out with the World Wide Web in 1993. Once released to the public, it was coined the name "universal linked information system". This was the first information system that users could use to share content over the Internet such as hobbies, documents, and other web resources.
