    Created by Microsoft, XP was the successor to Windows 2000 and Windows Me. XP was the first Windows OS to not be based on Microsoft DOS. It was also the first Windows OS to feature copy protection via product activation, something all windows OS's must do. XP would become more popular that its successor, Windows Vista, and would only be surpassed by Vista's successor, Windows 7.
  • AMD Athlon 64

    AMD Athlon 64
    Created by AMD, the Athlon was the very first 64-bit processor to be targeted for consumer use. I was intended to, "overcome the inherent limitations of 32-bit systems,". Despite being 64-bit, it was also backwards compatible with 32-bit systems via a set of instructions.

    Created by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates, Facebook would completely change how people think of privacy on the internet. Social media before would often be forums which would have you crate a username. Facebook was one of the first sites to have your full name on display for everyone to see. While you still had the choice to choose who could see your posts, this would start a trend of people using their actual name on the internet.

    iPhone
    Created by Apple, the iPhone would revolutionize the smartphone with its design and ability to install apps. It would completely change how media would be consumed as it came with apps such as YouTube coming standard on every phone. It would also unintentionally phase out the ipod.
  • Windows 7

    Windows 7
    Created once gain by Microsoft, Windows 7 would be the true successor to Windows XP. It would allow for features such as touch and handwriting recognition along with many other things.
