    The first computer game, Spacewar! is invented by Steve Russell at MIT.
  • HP release

    HP release
    HP introduces their first computer, which was called the "2116A". It was the first model of the HP 2100 series, which was a line of mini computers produced by Hewlett-Packard.
  • Apple I

    Apple I
    The Apple I is released and created by Steve Wozniak, and was marketed by Steve Jobs. It was marketed for $666.66 due to Wozniak liked to "repeat numbers". To finance the project, Jobs sold his only mototized means of transportation, and Wozniak sold his HP-65 calculator.

    Apple II
    The Apple II is released by Apple as the first computer with color graphics. It was Apple's first consumer product and was also built and designed by Steve Wozniak and was overseen by Steve Jobs. It was an 8-bit home computer and the starting retail price was $1,298.
  • "Lisa" Computer

    "Lisa" Computer
    The "Lisa" PC is introduced by Apple as the first PC with a GUI (graphical user interface). The initial retail price for this was extremely expensive, coming in at $9,999. It had a 5 MB hard drive, and although it did have pretty poor performance and unreliable floppy disks, it did have a lot of hardware and technological step-ups from the Macintosh. Only 100,000 units were sold.

    Windows is created by Microsoft on November 20, 1985 as a graphical operating system shell. It ran as a graphical, 16-bit multi-tasking shell on top of an existing MS-DOS installation, and it was called "Windows 1.0". Bill Gates was the overseer of this project, but unfortunately Windows 1.0 was disliked critics and was said to be below standard.

    The first recognizable social media site, called Six Degrees, was created. It was created by Andrew Weinreich, based on the theory that every person in the world could connect to each other by just six degrees of seperation. The site lasted until 2001.

    Google
    Google was founded by Stanford students, Sergey Brin & Larry Page, in a garage located in California. They kept Google as a privately held company until August of 2004, when an initial public offering took place. Google is now easily the most popular search engine around the world and is known by name worldwide as well.

    YouTube is founded in San Mateo, CA by creators Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. YouTube is now owned by Google after the original creators selling it over to them. YouTube is easily one of most popular social media sites. There you can watch videos made by creators, or even create videos yourself either for fun, trying to get exposure, or even trying to get an income.

    iPhone is released by Apple on June 29, 2007. It was the first of many generations, and it is now a global phenomenon with over 17 variations. It was the first smartphone, and had many different features such as apps, and playing music.
