    Hieroglyph

    The Ancient Egyptian, like the Sumerians, founded a system which utilizes symbols that pertains to different meanings. A way to record and communicate.
  • 1800 BCE

    Smoke Signal

    Chinese soldiers in the Great Wall of China used a smoke signal in order to alert incoming enemies. Multiple Indigenous tribes from all over the world also use this to communicate from far distances to cause alarm.

    Pigeon Post

    Letters were tied to pigeons to send messages. This method of communication was often used in wars because it is easier than a messenger on a horse.
  • Telegram

    Samuel Morse invented the telegram which uses Morse code which consists of beeps that correspond to the letters of the alphabet. The first message through telegram was sent 40 miles away.
  • Telephone

    Alexander Graham Bell patented the first telephone. His first conversation through the telephone was with Mr Watson
  • Phonograph

    Thomas Edison patents the first phonograph.
  • Wireless Telegraph

    Guglielmo Marconi invented the first-ever long-distance wireless telegraph that uses radio waves.
