A greek historian named polybius, invented a system that allowed him to send coded messages by smoke siganls converting greek alphabetic characters tp numeric characters. This way of communication was good for war strategy by sending coded messages.

In 1150 people started using carrier pigeons and some people refeered to them as "flying rats". One day an african company some data in africa and wanted to see how good these carrier pigeons actually were. In 1443 Johan Gutenberg,a goldsmith, and a metal worker basically created the same printing press the chinese inevented but expiremented using metal typography with it. At the time the communications over-seas was limited which is why the americans never knew the chinese invented it first. This changed communication by getting news out faster to the world, printing books, etc.

Joseph Henry creates the first eletric telegraph in 1831. Later on he got a patent for the telegraph. The telegraph was perfect for sending quick messages to and from somewhere.

In 1835 Henry Fox Talbot discovered/invented a silver clhoride camera film on paper. He called this the two-step negative-positive procedure. The crystal radio was inevented in the 1920's and the way it worked is that it ran off of a crystal inside the radio and when the radio put out sound waves it charged the crytal inside the radio which made the radio wireless. In 800AD a chinese man printed a full wooden block of words and this was a major break thrue for the chinese. Wood-block required a new block of wood to be carved for each page since none of the pages werent the same.
