    The Columbian exchange is the exchange of goods, diseases and crops from the old world to the new world. It is important because it led more trade and food production across the world, it had a negative impact due to slave trading and disease.

    The Middle passage took place from 1560 to 1850. It was apart of the Triangular trade route and it was the passage that took enslaved people from Africa across the Atlantic ocean to the New World. It is important because the middle passage is the route that slaves were transported to the Americas on.

    Headright System
    The headright system was about allowing land owners to buy 50 acres of land for every immigrant who's journey they sponsored. The Headright system was important because it was a way to increase immigration to Virginia and increase the workforce.
  • Creation of Rhode Island Colony

    Creation of Rhode Island Colony
    Roger Williams founded the first all white settlement in what is now Rhode island in 1636. Williams established religious freedom and political freedom.
    The Creation of Rhode Island is important because it became one of the British thirteen colonies. It is also important because many people came to Rhode Island because they sought religious freedom.

  • Sugar Act of 1764

    Sugar Act of 1764
    In 1764 British Legislation wanted to stop smuggled sugar and molasses from the French and Dutch west indies to be traded, and the British wanted to get more profit. So the British put a tax on all sugar and molasses that was imported from non British Caribbean sources, which was a 3 penny per gallon tax.
    The sugar act of 1764 is important because it put a tax on all outside source sugar and molasses and the colonist immediately started to protest the sugar act.

    On March 22 1765 British Parliament passed the stamp act without the approval of the colonial legislature. The stamp act put a tax on different forms of papers, documents and playing cards.
    The stamp act was made to pay off the French Indian war. The stamp act was important because the colonist did not like the tax on stamps and decided to protests.

    The Boston massacre was a confrontation in Boston where seven British soldiers shot into a crowd of "patriots" killing five, wounding another six, and angering an entire colony. It was important because it helped motivate the colonies to stand up against Great Britain.

    The Boston tea party was a political protest from the colonies to great Brittan. It was targeting the tea act of May 10, 1773 that let the East India Company to sell tea from China in American colonies without paying taxes. They disguised themselves as Native Americans and destroyed an entire shipment of tea. the Boston tea party intensified the American revolution.
