This document basically stated that it was prohibited to colonize beyond the Appalachians. -
Sugar Act of 1764
First law passed to raise revenue in the colonies for the crown. It increased the duty on foreign sugar from the West Indies. -

This law stated that colonists needed to provide food and shelter for shelter for British soldiers -
Stamp Act
This was a tax placed on almost all forms of paper anything. The purpose was to raise revenues and the British felt the colonists owed them after the British gave military support to them during the Seven Year's War. -

Known as the Boston Massacre, a crowd of 60 townspeople were taunting and throwing snowballs at a squad of 10 redcoats. Sam Adam's organization
Samuel Adams organized the local Committees of Correspondence in 1772, in Massachuesetts. Its chief function was to spread the spirit of resistance by exchanging idea and information, thus keeping alive opposition to British policy. -
Boston Tea PARTY?
Roughly 100 Bostonians who were a part of the Sons of Liberty barely disguised themselves as Indians. They boarded the docked ships in the port, smashed 342 chests of tea, and dumped their contents into the Atlantic Ocean. -
1st Continental Congress
Its purpose was to consider ways of redressing colonial grievances. 12 colonies sent delegates to Philadelphia. This was where the Declaration of Rights were written. -
