Colette's Bio
I was born in Oakland, Ca. I have lived in Oakland most of my life. I have two sons and two grandsons. The past seventeen years I've worked in education, mainly with after school programs in various positions from a line staff to an administrator. I've worked in public, private, and charter schools. I love Disney and going to Disneyland! In the few minutes of spare time I might have I love to read science fiction and fantasy stories and love spending time with my family! -

Mt Diablo CARES After School Program is a 21st Century Community Learning Center federal and ASES state funded after school program. I held many different positions while employed with Mt Diablo Unified School District & the CARES Program. Site Coordinator, Program Manager, Staff Development & Technical Assistance. My first grandson is born!
My oldest Grandson Rylan! -
Director of Extended Learning
Oversaw all of the extended day programs, before and after school. Worked directly with the Grantee- UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education. The programs were funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. This was a new and exciting change for me working at a Charter Military School. Jerry Brown, the Governor of California, started this school and visited the school often. The school was focused on college preparation and family engagement. -

Teacher - Special Programs - UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education
Once the 21st Century grant had ended with OMI (Oakland Military Academy) I went to work for UC Berkeley. They were awarded another five year grant to work with 6 private catholic schools in the bay area. These are the schools that I now support in my current role. -
Received my Bachelor's Degree from Ashford University
My degree is in Early Childhood Education Administration. I have the least experience working with children in this area and that is why I chose this degree. I choose the adminstrative side because at sometime in the future I am interested in working with young children at a pre-school or transistional kindergarten program. -
Started a Master's Degree Program with Ashford University
Started a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology with Ashford. -
