They Genral was told negotiations were out the window and it was war time. Planes were lanched after words came through. -

Hideki Tojo the prime minister of Japan, decided that the Us would not back down and war would begin. -
Codes from a Japan war boat.
US decoded a message from Japanese war boats in their air space. The mesage was not sent right away to the goverment and thought it was a joke or less important than other thinks. -
We want peace
Roosevelt sent Japan a final peace appeal. -
The attack of peral habor
The first round of the no disarable planes hit peral habor. There mission was to distory everthing and make the biggest impact that you could. The words from the capitain were " Don't waste the fuel of coming back use it like a bomb" -
The distruction
The attack lasted just two hours. The Japanese destroy nearly 20 US naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and almost 200 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded. -
Us declares war
The day after the President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan. Congress approved his declaration. -
Allies jump in
Japanese allies Germany and Italy also declared war on the US. -
Planning for the war
Roosevelt decides to build an atom bomb and hit china at heart.
