The United States sent a plane known as the U-2 to spy on the soviet union but it was shot down and the pilot was captured, Because of this the pilot was sentenced to 2 years in prison, but he was released after just 2 years because the Soviet union traded him for one of their spies captured by the US. So, this incident in the cold war was hypocritical, The Soviet union was mad because we had sent a spy there but they had done the same to us -
Nuclear Test Ban Treaty

The Berlin wall was put up in 1961, it completely cut off West Berlin from East Germany and East Berlin. This wall was a sign of communism to the world and was know as the "Iron curtain"
