The United States and Greece were involved and threatened by communist insurrection, and Turkey,under pressure from Soviet expansion in the Mediterranean area. It was announced to the congress.

    Military assistance to Greece and Turkey was given. President Harry Truman set George Marshall. The United States gave over $12 billion to help rebuild Western European economies after the end of World War II. The plan was said in a speech at Harvard University. To aid in the economic recovery of nations.
