Containment Policy
A U.S. policy using numerous strategies to prevent the spread of communism. This policy was a response to a series of moves by the Soviet Union that were used to enlarge its communist "sphere of influence." This was the strategy for fighting the Cold War. -

A war between North Korea and South Korea. The war began when North Korea invaded South Korea following a series of clashes along the border. This war has been called “the Forgotten War.” -

A campaign against alleged communists in the US government. It is the practice of making accusations without evidence. Many accused were blacklisted and lost their jobs. -

A federal law to check the president's power to commit the United States to an armed conflict without the consent of the Congress. It was designed to limit the U.S. president's ability to initiate or escalate military actions.
