    In 1948 there were less than 17,000 tvs in the untied states. By the end of 1950 Americans an estimated 50 million sets. Some people called the TV "Idiot box" or Boob tube".Educators were concerned about the impact of TV on their students and worried that students might skip homework to watch shows. In 1954 families began eating in front of the television. TV age impacted the society because it was a new invention and very entertaining.

    Communist vs Democracy. A cold war was a state of tension between to countries without actual fighting in 1945 - 1989. This event was important because it caused two countries to fight. This impacted the society because it caused hate towards one another.
  • NATO/Warsaw pact

    NATO/Warsaw pact
    NATO- north Atlantic treaty organization, help each other if they are attacked. April 1949 by the Allies headquarters in Brussels,Belgium. The war saw pact was May 1955 and the soviet union military alliance set up to go against NATO and satellite countries ended in 1991. They are both important because they were both going to help each other if they were attacked.

    She was born on December 1st 1955 Alabama and died October 2005. She refused to surrender her bus seat to a white passenger on the Montgomery boycott and joined NAACP. This event was important to history because it had efforts to end segregation and Jim Crow laws. This impacted the society because it allowed both African Americans and white sit where ever on the bus.

    Medicare started by president Lyndon Johnson in 1966. U.S government helps pay the hospital bills of citizens over the age of 65. Medicare covers about half of the health care charges.The impact on Medicare is that older adults paid more than three times as much for heath insurance as younger people. Medicaid was set up by Security Administration in 1965 that gave strong governments money to help low income people of all ages. the impact the society because it help people of all ages.

    On June 4th 1968 in Los Angeles California at the Ambassador hotel. He was walking through the kitchen to a press room with his wife Ethel and 5 others and Sirrah, Sirrah was in the closet and hit him with a 22 caliber postal with 3 shots in the head. He was angry at Kennedy for Israelis Military Policies Kennedy died 3 days later from the gun shot wound. This impacted the history because Another president got Assassinated.

    Gerald Ford was in office from 1974 to 1976 and was a republican and before being a president was a Michigan congressman for 25 years. A big impacted was to the politics when Gerald for had was pardoning Richard Nixon because Richard Nixon sneaked into the office to get there plans to know what they were going to do.

    Ronald Reagan was in office from 1980 to 1988 and was a republican before being president he was a governor of California and a movie star in 1937 to 1964. A big impact was on society because he spent $100 million on defenses and cut taxes. Ronald Reagan also helped reduce nuclear weapons.

    On January 28th, 1986 NASA wanted to revive interest so had the passenger Christa McAulifiee a school teacher from New Hampshire join. They launched at Cape Canaveral, Florida at 11:39 am and after 59 seconds of liftoff black smoke appeared and 74 seconds the black smoke burst into flames disintegrating the space shuttle over the Atlantic Ocean the program was put on hold for 32 months before another shuttle lunch. This impacted the society because when it happened it was on live Television

    George H.W Bush was in office from 1988-1992 and was a republican before he was a president he was Reagan vice president from Texas and was a navy pilot in WWII. The biggest impacted on the was on the Persian Gulf War because it was a strain on the economy and the U.S went back to war when he was a president. Also the Americans with Disables Act was passed and the Berlin wall fell down when he was president.
  • Hurricane Katrina

    Hurricane Katrina
    Hurricane Katrina was on August 29th 2005, hit New Orleans and at a category 5 with 157+ mph winds and by the time it hit land it was a category 3 with 115-130 mph winds. This caused catastrophic flooding. The total damage was $81 billion. 1,836 people died and 705 are still missing today. Kuwait made the largest single pledge $5,00 million. Hurricane Katrina Impacted the society because it left a lot of people homeless and families never returned home.

He was the first African American to become President of the United States.over one million attendees with many millions of others watching on television or the internet this was the most observed global event in history.
