Jimmy Carter was involved with this event. What happened in this event was Helsinki Agreement Olympic Boycott in 1980. Jimmy had called off the Olympic with the Soviet Union. Jimmy Carter impacted society because he passed the Social Security Act and he had Iran hostage taken returned 2 minutes after the new president. Meaning people now had social security numbers to be more protected over financial items.

Persian Gulf War

1991

Seddan Hussein was involved with this event. Seddan sent 100,000 troops into Kuwait because its rich oil produces.Sent American forces to Saudi Arabia, on January 19, 1991 the untied nations launches an air attack calling it "Desert Storm" This event took place in Kuwait. He did it to prevent Iraq from spreading its influence in the Middle east. The Persian Gulf War impacted society because we lost 382 people. It wasnt a lot of people but people never came back home to their families.
