Cuban Invasion
Cuban soldiers were trained to invade castro, the american thought it would start a massive cuban uprise. Instead the invaders were quicky defeated. -

Ronald Regan was elected as President. During this time he took an aggerssive position against the Soviet Union and spoke of developing a missle defense system. -
Velvet Revolution
This revolution was so peaceful it pushed communists out of power. The Eastern Europe leader was no longer willing to keep Europe under control so he did nothing to interfere.
