President Truman pledged to contain the Soviet Union out of Greece and Turkey. He established the Truman Doctrine that implied American support for other nations threatened by the Soviet communism, and financial aid was provided for both Greece and Turkey. -
Marshall Plan
Economic support by the U.S. to help rebuild Western European economies after the end of WWII. This American initiative to aid these countries ended up giving thirteen billion dollars. -
Berlin Blockade and Airlift
The Soviet Union was concerned of a unified and powerful West Berlin that will be against the Soviets. Due to the concerns the Soviet Union began a blockade that will stop all movement from the western powers such as the U.S. France, and Great Britain. Since the western powers could not import any resources the Berlin airlift began to carry supplies into West Berlin. -

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were two American citizens who spied for the Soviet Union and were executed for conspiracy to commit espionage.They passed information about the atomic bombs to the Soviets. -

Bay of Pigs Invasion
