  • Korean War

    The War began in 1950, when North Korea invaded South Korea. The War was between United Nations and The Democratic People Of North Korea. This was the first Military Action of the Cold War. It began when some soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army streamed across the 38th parallel.
  • Vietnam War

    The war began in 1954.1 out of 10 solders were injured or killed during the Vietnam. Vietnam is the commonly used name for the Second Indochina War.The Vietnam War was the longest in U.S. history.
  • Launch of Sputnik

    October 4, 1957 the world's first artificial satellite was born. Sputnik was launched by the Soviet Union.
  • Bay of Pigs invasion

    The Bay of Pigs invasion began april 17, 1961. It began when a CIA-financed and -trained group of Cuban refugees lands in Cuba and attempts to overbalance communist government of Fidel Castro. On April 17, 1961, around 1,200 exiles, armed with weapons and using landing craft, waded ashore at the Bay of Pigs in Cuba.
  • Creation of Berlin Wall

    The Berlin Wall created on August 13, 1961 was divided in 1961-1989 which was constructed by the (GDR) German Democratic Republic.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    October 14, 1962 threatening argument between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
  • SALT 1 & SALT 2

    SALT I, is commonly known, as the first of the Strategic Arms Limitation. A series of treaties was issued under the Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty to decrease the build up of nuclear weapons. SALT I was from 1969 to 1972. SALT II, began in November,1972, and produced a treaty that was never confirmed by the U.S. Senate. During that time the United States and the Soviet Union negotiated the first agreements to place limits on some of their most important weapons.
  • Soviet invasion of Afghanistan

    December 24, 1979 - February 15, 1989 the Mujahideen were at war against allied Afghan forces and the Soviet Army. In between 850,000 - 2,000,000 were killed.
  • Fall of the Berlin Wall

    November 9, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell. The communist for East Berlin's Communist Party spoke of a change with the west , he said later on that night that people from the GDR were free to cross the country's border. This was around the time of the Cold War beginning.
  • Fall of Communism in the USSR

    On December 25, 1991 things changed for the Soviet Union and the Eastern Europe. Mikhail Gorbachev made a decision on democratic momentum which led to a collapse for the Berlin Wall.The Communist overthrew the rule throughout Eastern Europe, U.s reacted while Bush supported independent movements.
