-An American policy that promised aid to people who struggle to maintain their democratic freedom. -The start of U.S. againsting communism and the beginning step into Cold War. -Some countries did not fall into communism but many of them had been divided. -

-Ideological civil war in Korea that involved U.S. and Soviet Union. -United States had involved against communism and one of the conflicts with Soviet Union. Election of Kennedy
-John F Kennedy was elected as the 35th president of United States. -President Kennedy was one of the presidents who dealt with Cold War. During his presidency, Cuban Missile Crisis occurred and U.S. began to involve more deeply to Vietnam War. -U.S. defeated Soviet Union at Arms Race, space race, H-bomb and other competitions. -
Start of Vietnam War
-The beginning of Vietnamese ideological civil war. By 17th parallel, north was led by Ho Chi Minh (communist party) and south was led by Ngh Dinh Diem (non communist). -United States began to help South Vietnam in finance and military to keep them from communists. -Soon U.S. sent troops to Vietnam. The war continued over the twenty years. -
Fall of Berlin Wall
-The wall in Berlin (which had divided Germany into East and West for 28 years) finally fell off after Soviet Union collapsed. -As Soviet Union stopped invading East Germany, Berlin collapsed. This was a significant event that referred to the end of Soviet Union and failure of communism. -East and West of Berlin reunited together as a democratic nation. Cold War was going to end.
