    The doctrine was about the Greece and Turkey at risk into falling into communist insurgents. Truman requested $400 million from Congress in aid to both countries.The gaspire theme is social. This caused conflict because the governments wanted different types of government.

    The blockade of Berlin began on June 24, 1948. From June 1948 to May 1949, the Us and British planes airlifted 1.5 million tons of supplies to residents of west Berlin. This was a conflict but the Soviets gave in after 200,000 flights.

The Marshal Plan impacted the war because Europe now had funding to start rebuilding what was lost from the war.

    Comecon stands for the Council for Mutual Economics Assistance. This was the Soviet response to the Marshall Plan, established in 1949. The purpose was to provide aid to communist nations so that they would not take money from the US.Gaspire theme used was Economic because Comecon had to do with money and economy. Comecon impacted the Cold War because it was like a retaliation and the main purpose was to spread their form of government in order to prevent others to seek for U.S help.

    NATO stands for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.They pledged to protect and support one another if every attacked. It includes the USA, Canada, Britain, France, and 8 others. The gaspire theme used here is political because the leaders of countries isolated other leaders. NATO impacted the Cold War because if anyone was attacked, the countries acted as if they were all attacked as one giant nation.

    The war begun when the North Koreans crossed the 38th parallel in 1950 in hope to unite Korea as a Communist nation. As a result, the UN and USA forces came to the aid of South Korea. Communist Chain and the USSR gave aid, military support, and weapons to support the North Korea. The gaspire theme is geographical because North and South Korea got separated at the 38th parallel on the map. This impacted the Cold War because the communist run North Korea didn't accomplish taking over the South.

Kennedy demanded that the missiles be removed with the threat of war. On October 28th, 1962, Khrushchev removed the missiles and nuclear was was avoided. In 1975, 33 nations joined the US and the Soviet Union in signing a commitment to detente and cooperation, the Helsinki Accords. The gaspire is political because the treaty caused both countries to limit their ICBM's, which showed power.

    Due to the collapse of communism in the Soviet Union, Yeltsin was elected president of Russia, Then in the summer of 1991 Yeltsin had attempted to help Gorbachev. In December 25, 1991 Gorbachev resigned as USSR president. The gaspire is political because it shows how the power transfer from Gorbachev to Yeltsin. This furthered the war because it was the end of the Soviet Union, and the beginning to what we know today as Russia.

    Interview with Carla
    According to the interview, I learned that the Cold War was a battle between the US and Soviet Union. She was in fear of possible war. She has not thought about the war until 2017 with the intervention of our president and Russia. She thought the Soviets were evil and thought they had ideas that alien to democracy. In addition, not a lot of trust with the government and their leaders. When the war ended, it was an exciting time and she felt a level of optimism about the future.
