    The Potsdam conference was a discussion about peace and control of Germany and the battle against Japan. This discussion took place because the war was ending and the allies needed a plan.this discussion begun July,14 1945 and ended
    August,2,1945 and because of the conclusion this discussion came to Germany was left with four occupied zones that the allied countries could take reparations from but only the zones they occupied, the conclusion also left Poland with a part of Germany.
  • United Nations

    The united nation was a group of 26 countries that signed a pledge to defeat the Axis power while the U.S. and Britain were trying to create peace by signing the Atlantic charter but had to give it up after the U.N was created causing the U.S and Britain to have to start over and draw up a new plan for world organization.

    The Korean war was a battle over communism between north Korea and south Korea ,the united states ,and china. The war started June,1950 and ended in the July of 1953; the war started because north Korea believed in communism and south Korea didn't and neither did the united states because they feared it would spread to other countries but in the end the war ended up being unsuccessful for north Korea and there was over 1,937,000 people who died .

    The Vietnam war was a war between North and south Vietnam because the north wanted to reunite their country under communism, this war begun in 1954 and ended in 1957 and by 1976 north and south Vietnam were one country again called Vietnam because northern Vietnam won the war in 1975 and because of all this about 1.3 million Vietnamese soldiers were killed.

    The Warsaw pact was a pact between 26 different countries that stated “if one was attacked they attacked them all” this was an attempt to reunite Germany and to cause the soviet union to allow great economic and political freedom. It was created because of the NATO treaty that western Europe had joined so the 26 countries felt the need to created a pact giving them safety which caused the united states to withdraw from NATO stating that they didn't want to be apart anymore.

    The Suez crisis was a disagreement between Egypt,Britain, and France about the Egyptian president nationalizing the Suez canal (property owned by the British and the french). This all happened because the Egyptian president was provoked by the U.S. and Britain because of their decision not to finance Egypt's construction of the Aswan High Dam. this all caused the declaration of martial law and the canal zone and the seizing control of the Suez canal company.

    The Hungarian uprising as an uprising in Hungary in 1956 that started after soviet lead Nikita Khrushchev attacked the period of Josef Stalin's rule in a speech encouraging new freedom of debate and criticism that lead to a soviet invasion and the execution of Nagey all of the causing slow evolution in Hungary.

    The space race/sputnik was a race between the U.S and the soviet union over technology development. It started because the soviets were successful in launching a satellite into space before the U.S. causing a arms race but then the U.S was successful and finally launched but then the presidential election rolled around and the U.S and the soviet union was reminded that the technology they were making was very dangerous causing them both to draw back in technology development.

    The Berlin wall was the division between Germany and Berlin because the U.S and Great Britain and France Had the forces in Berlin and Nikita Khrushchev had delivered a speech demanding them to be removed and his speech lead to a three year crisis which eventually ended up in the creation of the Berlin wall.

    The cuban missile crisis was an agreement between the U.S and the soviet leader stating that the soviets would remove their missiles in exchange for the U.S. promising not to invade cuba this all happened because of the fear of a nuclear war.

    Glasnost It was a war that started because Glasnost dramatically enlarged freedom of expression in the country.this happened all because glasnost wanted to overcome inertia in the soviet political and bureaucratic apparatus.this ended up giving greater freedom to the public and fundamental changes to the political structure occurred it also reduced the multi candidate elections.

    Perestroika was the argument of the new ideas of decorated economy controls and encouragement of self financing.this happened because they wanted to revitalize the stagnant soviet economy seeking to bring the soviet union up to economic par. The impacts of this event was the continuation of system domination and economic par and elections present ed voters with a choice of the candidate which reduced the direct involvement of the communist party.
  • NATO

    The NATO was a treaty signed on may.14.1995 . it was signed to establish a strong defensive alliance against any potential military or economic threats from the west. The agreement was established to strengthen the hold of the soviet union over its eastern europe satellites to prevent their seeking close ties with the west causing stationing soviet troops which led to revival of nationalism and an uprising against Hungary.
