  • Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty

    Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
    Many countries, including the Soviet Union and the US, signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which basically regulated the creation and eventual use of nuclear weapons. This prevented serious consequences in the Cold War. The cartoon was drawn in August of 1953. It was earlier than the treaty, but based on the thoughts of the time.   • Four Power Agreement

    The agreement reconfirmed the rights and responsibilities of Russia, USA, Britain, and France in regard to Berlin. It confirms Berlin (West) is not a part of the Federal Republic of Germany, but acknowledges the special ties between Berlin (West) and West Germany. It also lays down provisions concerning transit traffic between the FRG and Berlin (West), the rights of West Berlin residents to visit the Eastern part of the city and the GDR and the extent of West German presence in Berlin (West).

  • North Vietnam vs South Vietnam

    North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam. The capture of Saigon by the North Vietnamese led to the whole country becoming Communist

    Soviet Union and Cuba set up Communist governments in Angola. This is the beginning of the spread of Communism through the Soviet Union.
