  • Yalta Conference 1

    Yalta Conference 1
What happened during the Yalta Conference was that before the conference, the Allies wanted to basically ban the German military industry. Another reason for the Yalta conference was the Allies wanting the discuss how they would deal with the defeated and liberated countries of Eastern Europe. Because of this, the Allies wanted to help Poland back onto its feet, which proved difficult to do.
  • Yalta Conference 3

They also wanted to discuss how they would abolish the German military industry. The Allies were most likely paranoid that Germany would try another attack so they took their military industry to prevent them from making weapons or recruiting people to attack nearby countries. Yalta Conference." . Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2016. Web. 26 May. 2016.
  • Yalta Conference 2

The US and UK assumed that they would need help from the SU to defeat the Japanese which was a bad choice to do. Stalin’s promise to have free elections in European parts occupied by the SU failed and caused all of those countries to become communist countries. Yalta Conference." . Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2016. Web. 26 May. 2016. The Yalta conference was held because they wanted to talk about how they would deal with the defeated countries in Eastern Europe.

Yalta Conference." . Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2016. Web. 26 May. 2016.
  • Potsdam Conference 3

  • Potsdam Conference 1

    Potsdam Conference 1
What happened in the Potsdam Conference was that most of the Allies came to Potsdam, Berlin and they all talked about peace settlements with no treaty. They discussed the main issue which was the control of Germany and the battle against Japan. The US also told the Soviet Union about the atomic that they were building. France wasn’t at the conference which was crucial since they were one of the Allies and needed to know what would happen to Germany since they felt threatened back in WWI.
  • Potsdam Conference 2

Churchill, the prime minister of Britain, was replaced by Attlee during the conference which was also crucial since Churchill did also help in WWI and II and this new minister wouldn’t know about what the Allies communicated about during WWII. "Potsdam Conference." . Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2016. Web. 26 May. 2016. .
The reason why the Potsdam Conference was held was because the war was ending and the Allies needed a plan on how to control Germany and battle against Japan.
  • Potsdam Conference 4

The effects of the event were that Germany was to be split in four parts for four countries, Britain, U.S., France, or Soviet Union. Poland was also given a part of Germany later on. • NATO 3

Why it happened was because of all of the different attacks on the Allies and other helpful countries and so a treaty which would pull all of the Allies in if one were to be attacked would help since the Allies would be able to conquer the attacker and help their ally out. It would prevent the falling of a weaker ally and help everyone in the long run. "North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)." Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., 2016. Web. 26 May. 2016.
  • NATO 4
