In 1957 One American Baby was born every 7 seconds. Between 1940 and 1955, the U.S population experienced its greatest increase. This occurred when men came back from war they had enough money and etc. to make babies. When more babies were made it meant more money was spent which was more money for the government. But they didn’t wanna pay for their Social Security which was a bad effect. -
Yalta Conference
This was important because they agreed that Poland, Bulgaria, and Romania would hold free election. Later on Stalin reneged n his promise. Stalin was giving vague promises when they needed help in the war against Japan. Roosevelt wanted Soviet help in the war against Japan -

Formation of NATO
Formed in 1949, provided the military alliance to counter Soviet Expansions. Twelve Western European and North American nations agreed to act together in the defense of Western Europe. They all agreed that if they were to attack one or more of them , take it as if they were attacking all of them. In 1955 West Germany became a member of NATO. In response the Soviet Union and its satellite states formed a military alliance called the Warsaw Pact. -
McCarthyism
Negative catch word for extreme, reckless charges of disloyalty. By making irresponsible allegations, McCarthy did more discredit legitimate concerns about domestic communism than any other American. Between 1950-1954 McCarthy was perhaps the most powerful politician in the U.S. He Made people loose their jobs and destroyed their reputations. He attacked Ruthlessly, and He told Constant Lies. -
