    Joe McCarthy
    In 1953, McCarthy accused 57 State Department employees who were Communist. Joe could never prove his claim about him accused Communists. This event had everyone who was accused of being Communist fired and whoever tried to defend the innocent people and those innocent people were saying that the people accused were not Communist were also fired. McCarthy eventually was censured and lost power in the government. IMPACT: this spread fear about having Communist people in our government.

    United Nations
    The countries of the United Nations are 193 countries including the United States, France, Britain, China, the Soviet Union, and Belgium. The Conference for the United Nations was held at Yalta Conference room in New York City. This event was important to history because the United Nations was created to solve disputes, solve disease and hunger. Also, to improve education, and provide vaccines mainly for young children. United Nations impacted politics because this is Communism vs. Democracy.

    In 1948, people were finally learning about the Television and sold 17,000 television sets in 1948. By the 1950s 50 million television sets were sold in the United States. After the Television was made and sold to families that had kids in their family the teachers were worried that the students would not do their homework. Some parents and worried adults were scared that young children would see all the violence and sex depicted in some programs would be bad for young children.

    Rosa Parks
    Rosa Parks was born in Alabama while everything was segregated. On December 1st, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus and she was finally removed from her seat by police and was sent to jail for not giving up her seat on the bus. This event begins to end segregation in the United States and this began the Jim Crow Law and Martin Luther King Jr. joined in on this event. Parks joined the NAACP which stands for the National for the Advancement of Colored People.

    The country that was involved in this event was Berlin. What happened was 3 million East Berliners filed to West Berlin. This also embarrassed the Soviet Union because they were communist and the East Berliners fled to the West because they were free. After everyone fled from East Berlin to West Berlin, East Berlin started to build a wall made of concrete overnight with barbed wire on the top of it and it was built all across the border line connecting East Berlin and West Berlin.

    On April 4, 1968 in Memphis Tennessee, Dr. King was helping support black sanitation workers on strike. Dr. King was at the Lorraine Motel room 306 and Earl Ray (the shooter) shot Martin Luther King with a ¨Remington Game Master¨ rifle. He got shot in the right side of his jaw severing his spinal cord he died at 7:05 in the afternoon. Ray was captured in London, England TWO MONTHS later!! This was the FBI´s most expensive and biggest investigation in the history.

    On June 6 1989, Robert was assassinated in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California back in the kitchen and was greeting the cooks and once he was done greeting the cooks there was a man that jumped out from behind the freezer with a .22 caliber pistol and shot Bobby one in the head and two in the stomach. The man that shot him, his name is Sirhan Sirhan from Jordan, the reason he did this was because Kennedy backed up the Israel military and Sirhan Sirhan did not like the military.

    On June 17, 1972 and the Watergate was a robbery in Washington D.C. and 5 men were caught breaking into the Democratic Party Headquarters. The reason they were caught was because they left the door slightly open. The burglarers were also linked to President Nixon.

    In the year 2008, this began with mortgage dealers who issued mortgages with borrowers could not pay, so they foreclosed. This caused insurance companies to trade for credit swaps and started making trillions. This event was also named the worst financial crisis and most dangerous crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930. Then, the banks were getting asked for so many loans and they finally closed down because they could not trust anyone to pay them back.
